Custom Truck Labor Technician

Position Description:

We have a great opportunity for a motivated, detail oriented, and proactive person, to join our Fabrication Team as a Labor Technician, where you'll assist the Fabrication team in building custom work trucks for the construction industry. This team is responsible for customizing pre-built service bodies as well as building custom projects from scratch. Some projects work off a print, some projects work off premade templates, some projects require us to dry fit components before we begin. Construction is primarily steel but we occasionally use aluminum. We are a quality focused team with many long term employees.

Labor Technician:
To be considered, candidates must possess a strong work ethic, be highly mechanically inclined, with a strong attention to detail, and organizational skills.

We are looking for dependable, critical thinkers, with problem solving capabilities, who can help make our processes more efficient. We'd like you to have a proactive approach, seeking out work, as tasks are completed.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Cutting and cleaning metals for current projects
-Setting up projects: laying out the metal needed, and drilling holes where needed
-Ability to read a tape measure, with extremely high accuracy
-Operate overhead crane and tow motor, with confidence (training will be provided, if needed)
-Light welding, on an as needed basis (prior welding knowledge preferred, but not required)
-Comfortable operating large vehicles
-Assist fabrication team as needed

Requirements:

* Work safely 100% of the time.
* Be on time for work 100% of the time.
* Pass drug test and background check.
* Stay off your phone between breaks.
* Be comfortable operating large tow motor/forklift as well as large trucks
* Previous experience working in a shop environment
* Must have a consistent work history


Physical Requirements:
* Climbing in and out of truck bed up to 40 times per day.
* Working with hands above head for 10-30 minutes at a time
* Working on knees for 1 hour at a time
* Wearing a mask and safety glasses for 3+ hours at a time
* Lifting 30-50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
* Lifting 110 lbs 1-3 times per day
* Working inside a confined space for 30 minutes at a time (16.75” wide)
